Gender reveal parties are becoming increasingly popular, and why not? Having a baby is such an exciting time, and celebrating with your nearest and dearest is a wonderful way to look forward to something so special. The unveiling of your baby’s gender is much anticipated, and friends and family long to know.
So, if you are having a gender reveal party of your own, take a look at these four ways to use balloons to maximum effect.
1. Colour Co-ordination
If you already know the gender of your baby, and have simply kept it secret from relatives, you can use balloons to decorate the party. With the tradition of blue for a boy and pink for a girl, you can make up bunches of balloons or a balloon arch in the appropriate colour.
2. Balloon Drop
A balloon drop involves a number of balloons held above the party, ready to be dropped down, usually by a pull string. Again, you can do this yourself if you are surprising your party guests, or have it done by somebody else if it is a surprise for you too. Have the gender written on a piece of paper and give it to someone you trust to set up the drop and wait for blue or pink to rain down on you!
3. Balloon Pop
As with above, you can ask a friend to do this for you. Fill a large helium balloon with blue or pink confetti and pop it to reveal the baby’s gender. This makes for a wonderful photo opportunity as the pretty paper flutters around the parents.
4. Balloon in a Box
Have someone place a blue or pink helium balloon in a closed box. When you open it, the balloon will float into the air, revealing the gender. If you’d like to keep the balloon, be sure to add a balloon weight so that it doesn’t float too far away!
